About Me

I am Denisa, a baker with over 15 years of experience

I’ll teach you how to bake the most amazing cakes with ease like my cakes.

Baking is easy if you know how to do it and you will find exactly that here.

THIS IS MY STORY….

I was born in a small country in the middle of Europe. In the Czech Republic. The truth is that I love baking since I was small child. My grandmother did very beautiful cakes and I think I inherited it from her.
After I graduated, I decided that I would like to see the world and what attracted me the most was the USA. A big world opened up for me and I was excited about it. But the beginnings were not easy. In a foreign country, I could hardly speak English, everything was different. But I didn’t give up! I started learning English with an American who knew a little Czech and Polish. That was the basis. I had a couple of friends there that I could turn to and that was a big help. Eventually, I met my current husband there.
I took the opportunity in the USA and in the local hobby market, where I used to like to buy various small things, I discovered confectionery courses from Wilton. I was excited and took all 4 courses for which I received certificates. The lecturer was a very nice lady with a lot of experience.
And because I really enjoyed it and was excited, I started trying new methods that I found on the internet. I bought more and more confectionery tips, cutters, rollers and books to improve as much as possible.
Anyway, my first cake was a complete disaster. He looked pretty good visually, but it was awful in taste. Sweetened body, half butter cream and half hardened vegetable fat and lots of sugar. Total loser. But everyone started somehow once, and this experience definitely moved me a bit further.
I started looking on the internet and in baking books to bake a light and fluffy body with a cream that just melts on my tongue. I tried a lots of different types of baters and creams.
I discovered a lot of very good recipes and procedures at Martha Stewart or confectioner Susan Carberry.
Now I have tried a lot of recipes, which I would like to share with you here on my blog...
